Dr Bennett is the Founding Director of Cranfield Plasma Solutions, which he created following the award of his Doctorate in Applied Plasma Physics. He has lead delivery on client projects working across all Technology Readiness Levels in the aerospace, marine, and energy sectors; and has used the success of Cranfield Plasma Solutions to launch the spinouts Bonnieres, Aloeus, and Aegis Alpha. Dr Bennett holds Honorary Fellowships at The University of Edinburgh, University of Derby, and Cranfield University for his support on plasma technology research and development.
Dr Bennett directed the science over three years in Levidian, which resulted in the 20X technology scale-up; is five years into a consultation project supporting on the science, technology development, and commercialisation of the Satisloh Plasma Polisher; and Co-Directs the UK Space Agency Hypersonic Plasma Jet project.
Dr Gobey is a Director of Cranfield Plasma Solutions. She studied Theoretical Physics at Swansea University before working in metrology, after which she returned to university to study a Masters of Research in Ultra-Precision Engineering at Cranfield University with a thesis on material recovery from Lithium Ion Batteries, followed by a Doctorate using Plasma Technology to reduce the water use of Concentrating Solar Power mirrors.
After graduating she worked in R&D for a climate-tech startup developing a plasma system to split methane emissions into hydrogen and graphene, and then took a role as Technology and Manufacturing Manager helping to build EarthScale, a programme helping climate-tech start-ups scale from prototype to full scale.
Katherine's interest is in the commercialisation of cutting-edge research and she has recently studied for an MBA at Cambridge University Judge Business School with an Entrepreneurship concentration.
